Introduction
Pandemic Safety Training
The objective of the Pandemic Safety Training is to assist individuals who work in a variety of setting to recognize, understand and implement the best safety practices during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. This course provides critical information that ensures front line workers and any persons in vulnerable COVID-19 areas have the knowledge to preserve their safety and the safety of anyone around them.
Learners will first complete i) a pretest (just to see what you know already; it will not affect your training/progress), ii) read and watch all videos in the 4 lessons, iii) complete an evaluation (to tell us about your online training experience), and iv) take a quiz at the end and download your certificate.
At the completion of training, the trainee will be able to:
- Recognize basic infectious disease processes.
- Describe COVID-19 (coronavirus), the transmission, signs and symptoms, diagnosis, and clinical evaluations.
- Recognize the ways infectious diseases are spread.
- Discuss the different methods of infectious disease transmission
- Apply specific transmission prevention strategies
- Apply personal protective equipment correctly
- Recall resources for self-care during the pandemic
- Create clean and safe environments
- Recognize how to use approved cleaning solutions
- Use proper body mechanics
This training has four lessons:
Lesson 1 – Overview of the Infectious Disease Process
Lesson 2 – COVID-19 (Coronavirus)
Lesson 3 – Different Ways Infections Are Spread
Lesson 4 – Clean Environment and other Safety practices
